About the position

The Registered Nurse - Med/Surg position at St. Joseph Medical Center is a per diem role focused on providing high-quality nursing care to patients in a medical-surgical setting. The nurse will be responsible for patient observation, assessment, intervention, and rehabilitation, as well as the administration of medications and treatments as ordered by physicians. Responsibilities

• Observe and assess patients' health status.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Supervise and evaluate nursing practices and procedures.
• Provide health education and rehabilitation to patients.
• Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.

Requirements

• Valid RN License accepted by the Texas State Board of Nursing.
• Technical, clerical, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills relevant to patient care.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Nice-to-haves

• Med/Surg experience
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or progression towards it
• National Certification recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center
• Bilingual or Multilingual skills
