About the position

The Registered Nurse in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) is responsible for providing safe and therapeutic care to critically ill patients. This role involves utilizing the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, while functioning as a key member of the interdisciplinary team. The nurse will manage complex patient needs, assist with care administered by other nursing team members, and participate in a collaborative environment focused on improving patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Function as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams.
  • Carry out established nursing procedures and perform related duties as required.
  • Provide nursing care for patients with complex needs with assistance and supervision.
  • Assist with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.

Requirements

  • Two years of recent adult Medical ICU and/or Oncology Critical Care experience.
  • Active licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
  • Active American Heart Association CPR Certification.
  • Active American Heart Association ACLS Certification.
  • Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations.
