About the position

The Nurse Clinician II (NCII) is responsible for managing patients independently within their assigned clinical area, applying professional nursing standards and practices as outlined by the Texas Nursing Practice Act and HCHD Nursing Service. This role requires the ability to recognize when assistance is needed and to seek appropriate resources, ensuring safe and effective patient care.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage patients with common clinical problems in the assigned area.
• Apply nursing standards, principles, and algorithms to clinical situations.
• Recognize when assistance is needed and seek appropriate resources.
• Maintain knowledge of medical terms and mathematics relevant to nursing practice.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; Diploma in Nursing acceptable.
• Registered Nurse licensed to practice in the State of Texas.
• Basic Life Support certification from an AHA or Red Cross approved program.
• One year of full-time RN experience or completion of a Graduate Nurse Program.

• Above average verbal communication skills, especially in public contact situations.
• Exceptional verbal skills for public speaking and writing/composing correspondence/reports.
