About the position

The Nurse Clinician II (NCII) is responsible for providing professional nursing care in accordance with the Texas Nursing Practice Act and HCHD Nursing Service standards. This role involves independently managing patients with common clinical issues, while also recognizing when to seek assistance. The NCII is expected to apply clinical standards, principles, and algorithms effectively in their practice.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage patients with common clinical problems in the assigned area.
• Recognize when assistance is needed and seek appropriate resources.
• Apply clinical standards, principles, and algorithms to various situations.
• Maintain knowledge of medical terms and mathematics relevant to nursing practice.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Registered Nurse licensed to practice in the State of Texas.
• Basic Life Support certification from an AHA or Red Cross approved program.
• One year of full-time RN experience or completion of a Graduate Nurse Program.

• Above average verbal communication skills, especially in public contact situations.
• Exceptional verbal skills for public speaking and writing/composing correspondence/reports.
