About the position

The Registered Nurse position at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is a part-time role requiring 24 hours of work per week. This position involves providing compassionate and culturally effective care to pediatric patients in the 9 South Neuroscience Unit, which specializes in neurology and general pediatrics. The role includes rotating 12-hour shifts and requires at least 12 months of previous RN experience. Nurses will collaborate with a diverse healthcare team and manage complex patient cases, contributing to excellent patient outcomes through evidence-based practices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver family-centered care guided by CHOP's Nursing Professional Practice Model.
• Develop, evaluate, and revise patients' plans of care throughout their hospitalization.
• Gather and analyze data to inform the care team and delegate tasks.
• Promote excellent patient outcomes by adhering to evidence-based practices, nursing standards, and safety procedures.
• Identify and address safety concerns or ethical dilemmas with unit leadership.
• Develop effective partnerships with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Adopt healthcare technology and clinical practice changes in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain CEUs for nursing licensure and comply with annual nursing competencies and mandatory education.

Requirements

• Technical diploma in Nursing (required)
• At least one (1) year RN experience (required)
• Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) or Nursing Temporary Practice Permit (Pennsylvania) (required upon hire)
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification (required upon hire)

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (preferred)
• Prior experience in pediatrics or area of specialty (preferred)
• Ability to gather and assess clinical information using appropriate healthcare technology
