About The Position

The Registered Nurse in the Observation Unit at Southwest General is a professional caregiver responsible for planning, providing, and directing patient care. This role involves collaboration with physicians, patients, and families, ensuring adherence to patient care standards and physician orders. The nurse will also assist in the orientation of new personnel and may participate in departmental committees, demonstrating the necessary knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure by the Ohio State Board of Nursing.
• CPR certification required.
• Previous experience in a specific nursing area preferred.
• ACLS certification preferred, with specific requirements for Critical Care and Emergency Services.
• PALS certification required for Emergency Services.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide patient care in accordance with nursing standards and physician orders.
• Act as a liaison between physicians, patients, and families.
• Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Assist in the orientation process of new nursing staff.
• Participate in health center and department committees as needed.
