Responsibilities

  • Maintain a sterile field and apply aseptic techniques during surgical procedures.
  • Assess patients prior to surgery and ensure they understand the procedure.
  • Conduct a 'timeout' with the surgical team before any procedure.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of surgical prep areas for different procedures.
  • Serve as a resource to the Surgical Services team and promote teamwork.
  • Deliver quality nursing care services and uphold a positive image of nursing.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License.
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in an Operating Room setting.
  • Current BLS and ACLS Certification.
  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing is required; BSN is preferred.
  • CNOR certification is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a Level IV Trauma Center or Primary Stroke Center.
