About the position

The position involves assessing and diagnosing patients in a practice setting, particularly focusing on oncology and infusion-related treatments. The role requires the implementation of individualized treatment plans, coordination of care, and providing education to patients and their families regarding health needs and treatment options.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and diagnose patients in a practice setting.
  • Identify expected outcomes for patients' individualized treatment plans.
  • Implement identified treatment plans and coordinate all aspects of care delivery.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and family members regarding health needs and care activities.
  • Meet specific clinical needs of oncology and infusion patients using knowledge and expertise.
  • Recognize medication and solution incompatibilities and factors affecting stability.
  • Perform facility acuity coding by selecting the appropriate level of service for a diverse patient population.
  • Ensure all pertinent clinical information is documented in the patient's medical record.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required.
  • Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in North Carolina required.
  • Oncology experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in IV therapy, bone marrow, spinals, thoracenteses, paracenteses, and phlebotomy preferred.
  • Oncology certification preferred.
  • BLS required per policy guidelines.

Nice-to-haves

  • BSN preferred.
