About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the PACU at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is responsible for coordinating care for patients post-anesthesia. This role involves providing direct patient care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and utilizing the nursing process to enhance patient outcomes. The RN is expected to demonstrate leadership, professional accountability, and a commitment to continuous growth while adhering to regulatory standards and established protocols.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the efforts of the multidisciplinary care team for patients in the PACU.
• Provide direct patient care and collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) to improve patient outcomes.
• Demonstrate leadership and management skills in patient care.
• Participate in bedside shift reports, safety huddles, and multidisciplinary patient rounds.

Requirements

• Kansas Registered Nurse License
• BCLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or obtained within 4 years of employment
