About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) position at South Park East Care Center involves providing skilled nursing care to residents under the medical direction of attending physicians. The role encompasses administrative, committee, resident care, personnel, staff development, safety, and sanitation functions, ensuring high-quality care and compliance with facility policies and standards. The RN will monitor residents' health, coordinate care plans, and oversee Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) while maintaining a supportive and compassionate environment for residents.

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled nursing care to residents under medical direction.
  • Oversee Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and licensed nurses as directed by the Director of Nursing.
  • Consult and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized resident care plans.
  • Complete initial baseline and periodic comprehensive assessments and care plans within required timeframes.
  • Facilitate physician rounds and document physician visits with residents.
  • Monitor residents for developments of acute changes in condition and notify the provider as needed.
  • Assist in the admission and discharge planning processes for residents.
  • Provide nursing care that is compassionate and sensitive to residents with cognitive decline or trauma history.
  • Administer medications according to practitioner orders and report any medication errors.
  • Participate in quality committees and contribute to the orientation and training of new nursing team members.

Requirements

  • Must possess a current unencumbered active license to practice as an RN in the state.
  • Must have a nursing degree from an accredited college or university or be a graduate of an approved LPN/RN program.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of residents.
  • Possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.

Nice-to-haves
