About the position

The Registered Nurse Patient Placement position is a per diem role focused on coordinating compliance with Core Measure Requirements at the hospital level. The nurse will actively participate in case reviews, track compliance, and provide education to staff regarding best practices for patient care. This role emphasizes collaboration with healthcare providers and requires effective communication and teaching skills to ensure quality assessment and managed care.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates compliance with Core Measure Requirements at the hospital level.
  • Participates in concurrent case review to ensure evidence-based best practices are implemented for core measures patients.
  • Tracks compliance of measures and provides staff education on externally reported measurements.
  • Assists in planning and implementing interventions to ensure evidence-based practices are followed.
  • Works closely with providers, nurses, and other members of the organization to demonstrate effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Accountable for quality assessment and efficient managed care.
  • Completes established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing for Registered Nurse.
  • 3 years combined experience in hospital clinical practice, management, and/or clinical education in a healthcare setting.
  • Working knowledge of hospital regulatory standards, Core Measures, and National Patient Safety Goals.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse.
  • Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
  • 5 years experience in a designated practice area with demonstrated skill in nursing leadership.
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).
