About the position

The Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Heart Center CVICU at Memorial Hermann Health System is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients. This role involves collaborating with physicians and healthcare teams, conducting nursing assessments, assisting with exams and treatments, and providing patient education. The nurse will ensure safe and appropriate care while adhering to regulatory standards and promoting professional growth within the team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe and appropriate care to patients according to nursing skills inventory and patient needs.
• Coordinate the planning for nursing care delivery with an interdisciplinary team.
• Administer appropriate clinical decisions in the delivery of patient care.
• Collaborate with and direct the healthcare team to achieve positive outcomes.
• Coordinate treatment plans and develop/implement discharge and transfer plans.
• Participate in ongoing evaluation of programs and process improvements.
• Consider diverse patient needs throughout the continuum of care.
• Adhere to regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards.
• Ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors while following Memorial Hermann policies and procedures.
• Promote individual professional growth and development through continuing education and skills competency.
• Model Memorial Hermann's service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized, and efficient experiences.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; Bachelor's of Nursing preferred.
• Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing.
• Certified in Basic Life Support.
• 1-3 years of experience for RN II, 3-10 years for RN III, and 10+ years for RN IV.
