We are seeking a per diem (RN) nurse to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center team in Nashville, TN. The schedule is on call/as needed Monday-Friday, with one weekend every other month and 1-2 holidays per year (not including Christmas or New Years).

Requirements

• Active RN license
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• 2-3 years clinical experience in Operating/Procedure Room or PACU experience strongly preferred
• Strong technical and clinical assessment skills
• Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment
• Ability to communicate accurately and concisely

Responsibilities

• Utilize advanced assessment skills to identify patient care problems, formulate patient care plans
• Perform initial preoperative assessment, develops a plan of care, and explains the subsequent phases of surgery
• Provide comfort measures and psychological support to the patient and family members
• Demonstrate proficiency in caring for patients who have received various types of anesthesia or conscious sedation
• Administer medications by direct intravenous and other routes as directed
• Provide patient education
