About the position

The Registered Nurse in the Pre-Operative/PACU department is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting nursing care for patients in accordance with established standards and policies. This role involves direct patient care, maintaining a safe environment, and ensuring quality nursing services. The nurse will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and participate in the training of new staff as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care for patients.
  • Participate in direct patient care and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and sound nursing judgment based on nursing theory.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other staff members.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Respond to emergent situations and participate in continuing education and training.
  • Assist in training new staff and actively participate in developing a healthy work environment.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required.
  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Current Oklahoma RN License required.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
  • Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
  • Previous nursing experience in settings such as ASC, PACU, ICU, Medical Surgical, or Telemetry floors.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in ambulatory surgical centers (ASC) or PACU settings.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of patient monitoring equipment.
