About the position

The Radiation Oncology Nurse at AdventHealth plays a crucial role in caring for patients undergoing radiation treatment. This position involves educating patients about their treatment, managing side effects, and collaborating with healthcare teams to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients. The nurse is responsible for facilitating communication and ensuring optimal patient outcomes through the nursing process and adherence to care standards.

Responsibilities

  • Care for patients during their course of radiation treatment.
  • Educate patients about their treatment and manage treatment side effects.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to identify and meet patient needs.
  • Promote optimal health, well-being, and safety of patients.
  • Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate competency in therapeutic and diagnostic interventions.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or degree program.
  • Current Colorado RN License or a Compact RN License from a NCLA Compact State.
  • BLS certification credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
