About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementation, and evaluating care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, and coordination of care with other health team members. Staff RNs are pivotal members of the care delivery team headed by the physician and have specialized knowledge, skills, and ability pertinent to ambulatory care patient needs. This position requires specialized knowledge and increased accountability, specific to high acuity and/or specialized patient populations such as Instacares, Obstetrics, Infusion services, and Sedation monitoring. In this role, the RN will perform appropriate assessments of physical, social, and psychological status, seeking and evaluating information from other members of the interdisciplinary team, including patients and their families. The RN will use assessment information and critical thinking skills to collaboratively develop individualized plans of care, actively involving patients and families in the process. The implementation of care will involve directing the interdisciplinary care team through delegation, coordination, and collaboration. The RN will also evaluate patient responses to interventions, revising care plans as necessary based on clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction. Professional development is a key aspect of this role, as the RN will promote the nursing profession and participate in the development of others. This includes integrating legal and ethical standards into practice, complying with regulatory standards, and meeting ongoing competency requirements for job functions.
