About the position

The Registered Nurse-Risk Manager at the Robley Rex VA Healthcare System is responsible for overseeing the administrative functions of the risk management program. This role involves leadership, education, and consultation, focusing on critical healthcare issues that impact the organization’s mission and policies. The incumbent will establish effective relationships with medical center personnel and community stakeholders, ensuring accountability for the outcomes of the risk management program across various services and disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative oversight for the risk management program.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with medical center personnel and community stakeholders.
• Demonstrate leadership and creative approaches to managing complex patient care concerns.
• Collaborate with executive leadership and medical center services to improve healthcare quality.
• Document outcomes at the program, service, and facility levels.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens.
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a state, territory, or commonwealth of the U.S.
• Graduation from a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency.
• Proficiency in basic written and spoken English.

Nice-to-haves
