About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) position at Kennestone Hospital involves providing high-quality, individualized patient care in an acute care/med-surg environment. The RN will work as part of an interdisciplinary team, ensuring that patients and their families receive comprehensive support and care. The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, teamwork, and professional development, with opportunities for various shifts and specialties available.

Responsibilities

• Perform the Nursing Process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care that adapts to the needs of diverse populations.
• Coordinate care delivery and documentation to ensure safe, quality patient care.
• Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration within the healthcare team to promote a respectful clinical environment.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and support shared governance.
• Complete ongoing professional competency assessments and mandatory education.
• Serve as a preceptor or mentor for other nursing staff and students.
• Promote evidence-based practice and participate in nursing research activities.
• Plan for patient care across the continuum and develop protocols to achieve best practice outcomes.

Requirements

• Associates Nursing or Bachelor's Nursing degree (preferred).
• Registered Nurse (RN) license (Single State or Multi-state Compact).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
• Less than 1 year of direct patient care experience preferred.
