About the position

The Clinical Nurse II position at BWMC focuses on supporting the Discharge Expediting Team by facilitating patient discharges efficiently. The role requires strong clinical and critical thinking skills, as well as the ability to adapt and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. The nurse will work closely with the Expediting RN and participate in unit governance, ensuring high-quality patient care and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient discharges efficiently as part of the Discharge Expediting Team.
• Work closely with the Expediting RN to facilitate timely workflows for patient discharges.
• Independently provide and coordinate care for patients within a clinical specialty.
• Participate in unit governance and contribute to strategies for improving patient outcomes and satisfaction.
• Engage in professional development activities and contribute to the education of ancillary personnel.
• Ensure patient safety and participate in hospital patient safety initiatives.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Current Maryland RN licensure required prior to orientation.
• At least 1 year of RN experience required, preferably in MedSurg/Telemetry/ED.
• Strong clinical and critical thinking skills are essential.
• Ability to learn and use computer systems for managing patient information.

Nice-to-haves

• Discharge experience preferred.
• Professional certification is highly encouraged.
• Staff Nurse experience in MedSurg/Telemetry/ED is preferred.
