About The Position

The RN Fellow position in the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (NSICU) at Inova Fairfax Hospital is designed for experienced registered nurses transitioning into the ICU specialty. This full-time role involves working in a dedicated 18-bed adult unit that caters to critical care patients, including those with neurosurgical needs and strokes. The position emphasizes a commitment to providing high-quality patient care and participating in clinical research initiatives.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience (not a New Grad RN position).
• BSN from an accredited school of nursing; if holding an ADN, must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification required; ACLS strongly preferred (must obtain within first 3 months).
• RN licensed or eligible to practice in Virginia.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a caring demeanor.
• Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Neuroscience ICU.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, implementing appropriate interventions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Participate in clinical research related to neuroscience and critical care.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions and care plans.
