About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Roper St. Francis Healthcare is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care through the nursing process. This role involves assessing patient needs, creating and implementing care plans, administering medications, and coordinating care with the interdisciplinary team. The RN acts as a patient advocate and participates in quality improvement initiatives, ensuring safe and effective nursing practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Analyze assessment data and create a comprehensive plan of care.
• Implement treatment plans and evaluate their effectiveness.
• Administer medications safely according to state practice and organizational policies.
• Coordinate patient care across various hospital departments.
• Act as a patient safety advocate and participate in quality improvement efforts.
• Provide patient education and teaching activities.

Requirements

• Valid nursing license from the state of practice (required).
• Associate of Nursing or Diploma in Nursing (required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required at hire).
• Knowledge of contemporary nursing practices and innovations.
• Ability to apply the nursing process in patient care delivery.
• Skills in patient care coordination and evaluation of nursing practice.

Nice-to-haves
