About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor and Delivery to join our team in Winchester, MA. This position is an on-site role, requiring the nurse to be physically present at the facility to provide high-quality care to expectant mothers and their newborns. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the labor and delivery process, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients during childbirth, and providing support to families during this critical time. The RN will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care. Responsibilities include monitoring the health of mothers and babies, administering medications, and assisting with labor and delivery procedures. The nurse will also be responsible for educating patients and their families about the labor process, postpartum care, and newborn care. This position is a contract role lasting 13 weeks, starting on September 16, 2024, and ending on December 14, 2024. The shift type is rotational, which may require flexibility in working hours to accommodate the needs of the unit and the patients. The estimated gross pay for this position is $576 per week, reflecting the specialized skills and expertise required for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the health and progress of laboring mothers and their newborns.
  • Administer medications and interventions as prescribed by the physician.
  • Assist in labor and delivery procedures, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients.
  • Educate patients and families about the labor process and postpartum care.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care.
  • Document patient care and progress accurately in medical records.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts.
  • Experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle emergencies effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) or similar specialty certification.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
