About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor & Delivery (L&D) will provide compassionate care to expectant mothers and their newborns during the labor and delivery process. This role involves working collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure the safety and well-being of both mother and baby, while also providing emotional support and education to new mothers.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the progress of labor and assess fetal heart rate patterns
• Administer medications and pain management techniques as needed
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and emergency cesarean sections
• Educate new mothers on postpartum care and newborn care
• Collaborate with doctors, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
• Provide emotional support to mothers and families during the labor and delivery process

Requirements

• Valid RN license in the state of practice
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Certification in Labor & Delivery Nursing (L&D) preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery
• Strong clinical skills and knowledge of labor and delivery procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
• Compassionate and patient-focused care delivery

Nice-to-haves

• Certification in Labor & Delivery Nursing (L&D) preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
