About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical Surgical Unit at Monmouth Medical Center provides comprehensive nursing care within the scope defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards. This per diem position emphasizes safety, ethical practice, and evidence-based care, while also focusing on individual patient needs and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards.
• Ensure safety in practice and report identified safety issues and medical errors.
• Supervise and direct the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members.
• Collaborate with other patient care providers to ensure comprehensive care.
• Utilize the nursing process to integrate all aspects of patient care and individualize care plans.
• Communicate effectively with the patient care team and utilize available resources for knowledge advancement.

Requirements

• ASN or Nursing Diploma required.
• One to two years of experience within specialty required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills required.
• Proficient computer skills required.
• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License required.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Must possess and maintain a valid N.J. State Driver's License.

Nice-to-haves

• BA/BS/BSN Degree preferred.
• Completion of Clinical experience in NLN accredited school preferred.
• Screening Certification eligibility preferred.
• National Certification preferred.
