Responsibilities

  • Delivers safe and appropriate care to patients according to nursing skills and patient needs.
  • Coordinates nursing care delivery with an interdisciplinary team and makes clinical decisions.
  • Collaborates with and may delegate tasks to the healthcare team to achieve positive patient outcomes.
  • Coordinates treatment plans and develops discharge or transfer plans.
  • Participates in ongoing evaluation of programs and process improvements for client-centered outcomes.
  • Considers diverse patient needs throughout the continuum of care to optimize the patient experience.
  • Adheres to regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards.
  • Ensures safe care for patients, staff, and visitors, following all policies and procedures.
  • Promotes professional growth by meeting continuing education and skills competency requirements.
  • Serves as a preceptor and mentor to less experienced staff.
  • Models service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized, and efficient experiences.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; Bachelor's of Nursing preferred.
  • Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support.
  • 1-3 years of experience for RN II, 3-10 years for RN III, and 10+ years for RN IV.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
