About the position

The Multi-Competency RN position at Ogallala Community Hospital involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients across various age groups, from newborns to geriatrics. The role requires the nurse to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in accordance with professional nursing standards and organizational policies. The position operates on a unique three-week rotation schedule, including on-call shifts, and emphasizes collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs.
• Formulate a plan of care, including discharge planning, utilizing assessment data and input from patients, families, and the health team.
• Implement the plan of care through direct patient care and supervision of healthcare team activities.
• Evaluate the patient's and family's response to care and revise the plan of care as needed.
• Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record accurately and timely.
• Provide care based on the best available evidence and participate in research activities within clinical practice.
• Contribute to society through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes and participate in professional organizations.
• Interact with all levels of staff and external contacts concerning patient health care.

Requirements

• Current, valid RN license in the state of practice or compact RN licensure.
• BLS certification is required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in both Med/Surg and either OB or ED modality required.
• Must obtain additional skills and certifications to fulfill the role of Med/Surg RN, OB RN, and ED RN within 18 months.
