About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) Operating Room position at Banner - University Medical Center Tucson involves providing high-quality nursing care in the surgical department. The role requires assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while ensuring compliance with professional nursing standards. The RN will work in a dynamic environment with varied shifts, including call requirements, and will be part of a team dedicated to improving healthcare outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs.
• Formulate a plan of care based on assessment data and patient input.
• Implement the plan of care through direct patient care and coordination with the healthcare team.
• Evaluate the patient's and family's response to care and revise the plan as needed.
• Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record.
• Provide care based on the best evidence available and participate in research activities.
• Contribute to society through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes.
• Interact with all levels of staff and external contacts regarding patient care.

Requirements

• Current, valid RN license in the state of practice or compact RN licensure.
• BLS certification is required.
• Experience in an acute care hospital setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area is desired.
• Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area of work.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Professional certification preferred.
• Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

Benefits

• $15,000 sign-on bonus for external experienced Operating Room RNs.
• Flat rate of $5/hr for call, $3/hour weekend shift differential, and 18% night shift differential when applicable.
