The Registered Nurse (RN) Postpartum position at Banner Health involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in the postpartum unit. Responsibilities

• Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs.
• Formulate a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and input from the patient, family, and health team.
• Implement the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the healthcare team activities.
• Evaluate the patient's and family's response to care and teaching, revising the plan of care as needed.
• Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record accurately and timely.
• Provide care based on the best evidence available and participate in research activities within clinical practice.
• Contribute to society through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes and participate in the improvement of national nursing quality indicators.
• Interact with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts regarding patient health care.

Requirements

• Current, valid RN license in the state of practice or compact RN licensure.
• BLS certification is required.
• Minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area.
