About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) position at Right at Home NW OKC involves providing essential nursing care to seniors in their homes. The role focuses on improving the quality of life for clients by performing nursing procedures, administering medications, and ensuring a safe and healthy environment. The RN will work closely with clients, families, and caregivers, demonstrating critical thinking and professional judgment while delivering compassionate care. This part-time role requires flexibility, especially for weekend and holiday shifts, and emphasizes ongoing training and development.

Responsibilities

  • Completes an initial assessment of client and family to determine home care needs.
  • Performs assigned nursing procedures, including administration of treatments and medications in accordance with the client care plan.
  • Demonstrates the ability to think critically in exercising professional and clinical judgment.
  • Provides best in class care management to clients.
  • Maintains a safe and healthy working environment and uses safe work methods and procedures.
  • Builds personal rapport and establishes trust with clients, family members, and caregivers.
  • Effectively communicates and interacts with clients, caregivers, and families in a supportive manner.
  • Provides education to clients and family members on resources, medications, self-care techniques, and/or medical conditions per physician orders.
  • Observes and reports any signs or symptoms indicative of changes in condition of the client to the physician.
  • Acts as a role model for new caregivers, accompanying them on home visits and/or acting as a mentor as assigned.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with current licensure to practice professional nursing in the state.
  • 2 years of nursing experience (home health/hospice preferred).
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in performing all nursing procedures under the direction of a physician.
  • Valid driver's license and use of an insured automobile for work or access to adequate transportation.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed on the job.
