About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) at Warr Acres Nursing Center is responsible for providing direct nursing care to residents and supervising the nursing staff's daily activities. This role ensures compliance with nursing standards and regulations while maintaining high-quality care for residents. The RN will also engage in administrative functions, charting, medication administration, and nursing care functions, all aimed at enhancing the well-being of residents in a long-term care setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise nursing staff activities.
  • Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing staff according to industry regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with facility policies and procedures by nursing staff.
  • Plan services, programs, and activities with nursing staff and support personnel.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the quality assurance program for the nursing department.
  • Complete and file required forms and charts upon resident's admission, transfer, and discharge.
  • Prepare and administer medication as ordered by physicians.
  • Perform physical assessments and deliver optimum resident care.
  • Monitor residents' conditions and notify physicians of any changes.
  • Attend in-service education programs to meet educational requirements.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with current state license in good standing.
  • Excellent technical, assessment, and documentation skills.
  • Good leadership qualities and ability to multitask under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills with self-discipline and patience.
  • Genuine caring for elderly and disabled individuals.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in long-term care facilities.
  • Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) systems.
