About the position

The Registered Nurse for the Ryan White Program at Northern Nevada HOPES is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients living with HIV. This role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal treatment and support for patients, including care assessments and education on treatment adherence. The position is integral to enhancing patient care within a Federally Qualified Health Center and Patient Centered Medical Home environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients in the clinic.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal treatment for patients.
  • Evaluate and manage the care and education of HIV positive patients.
  • Develop care assessments and provide treatment adherence education.
  • Participate in organization-wide Patient Centered Medical Home activities to enhance patient care.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • RN license in the State of Nevada in good standing.
  • Excellent knowledge of general medical procedures.
  • Proven ability to maintain professional conduct, including appropriate boundaries.
  • Ability to multitask, detail-oriented, and flexible with work schedule.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively with team members.
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required prior to hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with HIV infected persons and those with substance abuse problems or mental health issues.
