This full-time Registered Nurse (RN) position is part of a specialized program contracted with the New Jersey Department of Human Services, specifically the Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services. The program focuses on treating opioid-addicted women during pregnancy and up to 12 weeks postpartum. As an RN in this role, you will provide both direct and indirect patient care within a behavioral health outpatient setting, ensuring that you maintain the highest standards of Professional Nursing Practice. You will be an integral member of an interdisciplinary team, responsible for the overall coordination of care and services delivered to consumers. Collaboration with other healthcare team members is essential to provide comprehensive patient and family education, demonstrating nursing knowledge that aligns with your licensure scope of practice. In this role, you will be responsible for providing patient care services under the direction of qualified medical staff, specifically reporting to a Nurse Practitioner as your direct supervisor. Your duties will include completing and recording vital signs, administering treatments and medications, maintaining inventory of medical supplies, and assisting patients in improving their coping abilities and understanding of their treatment plans. You will also work closely with patients' families to enhance their understanding of mental illness and substance use disorders, ensuring that care is delivered in a safe, comfortable, and private environment. Effective communication is key, as you will need to document care provided accurately and collaborate with non-medical staff to ensure excellent patient care.
