About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) position at Seattle Children's Hospital is a split role, primarily focused on providing safe, family-centered patient care in both the Acute Care Float Pool (ACFP) and the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The RN will work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, while adhering to established nursing standards and hospital policies. This role also includes supervision and delegation of tasks to other nursing staff and contributes to the hospital's strategic goals through initiatives aimed at continuous performance improvement and patient safety.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, family-centered patient care in ACFP and PICU.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care collaboratively with patients and families.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to Nurse Technicians, LPNs, CMAs, and CNAs as defined by state regulations.
  • Incorporate initiatives supporting strategic goals into daily work, including Continuous Performance Improvement and Patient Safety.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Washington State RN License or other applicable state license.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
  • Prior experience in a pediatric healthcare setting may be required for specific departments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Experience in pediatric healthcare nursing.
