About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) for the Virtual Acute Care department at Sentara is responsible for providing innovative inpatient care through a centralized virtual care model. This role involves leveraging technology to enhance patient care, supporting bedside nurses, and performing nursing duties via video call from a virtual care hub. The RN will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality care and patient satisfaction while managing administrative tasks that do not require hands-on care.

Responsibilities

• Leverage technology to enhance patient care and support bedside nurses.
• Perform nursing duties via video call, including admissions, discharges, patient teaching, and medication reconciliation.
• Collaborate with bedside nurses to ensure safe and high-quality patient care.
• Handle administrative tasks to improve workflow and patient communication.
• Utilize critical thinking and nursing processes to provide competent nursing care.

Requirements

• Valid RN license
• 5 years of recent acute care bedside nursing experience required
• IMCU experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certified
• Data entry skills and technology savvy
• Ability to work in a high volume virtual care video call center environment

Nice-to-haves
