About the position

DaVita is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to provide compassionate care in a hospital setting, specifically for patients dealing with end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease. The role involves working as part of a small interdisciplinary team, delivering specialty nephrology care in various hospital environments, and requires flexibility in scheduling to accommodate patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver care to patients with end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease.
• Oversee a group of patients with the support of Patient Care Technicians (PCTs).
• Conduct patient observations, measure vital statistics, and set up dialysis machines.
• Provide specialty nephrology care through various renal therapies including Hemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), and Apheresis.
• Work in a fast-paced hospital environment, including ICU, CCU, and ED settings.
• Participate in on-call shifts and provide lifesaving care during scheduled shifts.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Associates Degree in Nursing (A.D.N) from an accredited school of nursing required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N) preferred; three-year diploma from an accredited diploma program may be substituted for nursing degree.
• Successful completion of the pre-employment color blind test.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Critical Care Unit (CCU), Emergency Room (ER), or Medical Surgical (Med Surg) settings.
• Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) or Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) certification.
