About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) position at Potomac Healthcare Solutions in Kay County, OK, involves coordinating patient care in collaboration with a diverse team of healthcare professionals. In this position, the RN is accountable for making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel. Recognizing adverse signs and symptoms and reacting quickly in emergency situations is crucial. Effective communication and collaboration with a diverse group of individuals are essential for informing the healthcare team of plans and actions, as well as for educating patients and their families. The RN will also be responsible for making referral appointments and arranging specialty care as appropriate. Conducting research to support improved practice and patient outcomes is another key aspect of this role. The RN will collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, or clinical nurse specialists in the healthcare and education of patients. Promoting preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling, is also a significant part of the job. Overall, the RN will coordinate patient care through a multi-disciplinary continuum, facilitating the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to the provision of care, quality improvement, and cost-effectiveness.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency.
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in Oklahoma.
  • Minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Nurse after graduation.
  • Completion of VA mandatory training and current ACLS/BLS certifications.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
