About the position

The Registered Occupational Therapist (OT) at Garden Terrace Alzheimer's Center of Excellence provides direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy to patients based on physician referrals. The role emphasizes adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards while ensuring high-quality patient care and effective communication with interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct rehab care in occupational therapy to patients upon physician referral.
• Follow occupational treatment plans for patients, focusing on activities of daily living.
• Establish, assess, and modify realistic, measurable, timely, and functional goals for patients.
• Oversee and evaluate care provided by Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs), Rehab Aides, and students.
• Chart patient progress appropriately and in a timely manner.
• Utilize therapy software accurately for patient documentation and care management.
• Exhibit excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients.
• Assist in the evacuation of patients when necessary.
• Demonstrate dependable and regular attendance at work.
• Communicate effectively and function productively within an interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

• NBCOT certified upon hire, with optional renewal thereafter.
• Graduate of an accredited program in occupational therapy (BSOT or MSOT).
• Currently registered/licensed in the applicable state, maintaining an active license in good standing throughout employment.
• One (1) year of experience in post-acute care or a related setting preferred.
• CPR certification upon hire or obtained during orientation, with a requirement to remain current during employment.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
• Experience in participating in community health matters/projects.
