About the position
The Delighter role at Methodist Hospital is focused on providing a highly engaging and patient-centric experience for individuals visiting the facility. This position operates on a day shift schedule from 7 AM to 5:30 PM, with 10-hour shifts. As a Delighter, you will be responsible for greeting patients and ensuring they have a delightful experience, which sets the tone for their entire visit. You will present various registration options to patients, including Kiosk Self Service Registration, Delighter Guided Kiosk Self Service Registration, and Traditional in-person Registration. The role emphasizes the importance of communication and attentiveness to patient needs, ensuring timely support and a smooth registration process.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and provide a delightful experience during their visit.
- Present all registration options to patients, including kiosk and in-person registration.
- Offer patient check-in via Kiosk or Registrar.
- Conduct proactive rounding to ensure patient needs are met.
- Multitask using computer systems and handheld devices to assist patients.
- Collaborate with business partners to facilitate smooth and timely patient care.
- Perform opening and closing procedures in the registration area.
- Deliver customer-facing services within Revenue Cycle System Services, including scheduling, registration, insurance verification, prior-authorization, financial counseling, cashiering, and release of information.
Requirements
- At least one year of experience in hospital or physician Revenue Cycle strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of patient registration and financial clearance is required.
- High level of interpersonal and problem-solving skills is necessary.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Ability to work within a team and maintain collaborative relationships is essential.
- Ability to take initiative and meet objectives is required.
