About The Position

The Registration Representative at Kaiser Permanente is responsible for registering patients for medical services across various settings, including clinics and emergency departments. Requirements

• Six months of healthcare financial, cash handling, or customer service experience in a high-volume environment.
• Two years of experience in keyboarding/typing and navigating multiple computer applications in a Windows environment.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions independently.

Nice To Haves

• Previous hospital or ambulatory clinic registration experience.
• Experience with EPIC applications.
• Certification by HFMA or NAHAM preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets and registers patients for medical care in a fast-paced environment.
• Verifies patient demographic and insurance information according to National Registration Standards.
• Determines and collects cost-shares and partial payments for services.
• Enters and verifies payments, closes cash drawers, and creates deposits per cash handling policies.
• Explains and requests patients to sign regulatory forms and maintains compliance with Medicare and Medicaid regulations.
• Stocks appropriate forms and supplies and assists patients with inquiries.
