About the position

The Registration Scheduler at HonorHealth plays a crucial role in providing a multi-dimensional care experience for patients by acting as the first point of contact. This position involves organizing and facilitating clerical administrative duties, including patient registration, scheduling, and communication with healthcare providers. The role is essential in maintaining patient workflow and ensuring that patients are prepared for their exams, contributing to the overall efficiency of the healthcare service.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the first point of contact for all customers.
  • Organizes and facilitates clerical administrative duties of the department.
  • Performs cross-functional clerical and patient support duties including telephone, registration, scheduling, and data entry.
  • Responsible for patient chart maintenance and communication with physicians' offices as needed.
  • Contacts, greets, and communicates with customers, answering telephone calls and directing information appropriately.
  • Orients patients to the department with directions and instructions.
  • Receives and transfers incoming calls, generates reports, and retrieves images from the PACS system.
  • Assists in maintaining efficient patient workflow and ensures patients are appropriately prepared for their exams.
  • Transports patients when necessary and assists Supervisor, Radiologist, and/or Technologists as directed.
  • Performs scheduling for procedures, tracks no-shows, and communicates with physicians as applicable.
  • Performs registration duties including providing initial registration information and obtaining necessary authorizations from insurance companies.
  • Collects co-pays and payments required for procedures, completing daily deposits and billing as applicable.
  • Maintains inventory of office supplies/forms and places orders as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Current Fingerprint Clearance Card or eligibility to apply within seven working days after employment (for Pediatric Behavioral Health Sites).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 60 days for Hospital Outpatient Department (HOPD) sites.
