About The Position

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) role at Emory Healthcare involves providing essential patient care and support in the Cardiac Observation Unit. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• BLS certification required.
• One year of direct patient care experience, or
• Successful completion of a nursing assistant training course, or
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license through the State of Georgia, or
• Current enrollment in a nursing program with completion of 2 clinical rotations.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned patient care and observation duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or LPN.
• Clean the patient's room and assist with emergencies.
• Help with patient procedures and collect/transport patient specimens.
• Maintain hospital and unit-specific competencies.
• Assist in emergency situations as directed by an RN/LPN.
• Ensure prescribed measures related to hygiene, comfort, and rest are provided.
• Comply with Standard Precautions guidelines and Infection Control procedures.
• Assist in the use of various medical equipment and devices.
