About the position

The Regulatory Affairs Specialist at Florida Crystals Corporation plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with regulatory initiatives related to new product development and existing products. Reporting to the Director of Global Regulatory Affairs, this position collaborates with various stakeholders to maintain product compliance and provides updates on key legislation affecting product lines. The specialist is also responsible for delivering excellent customer service and fostering positive relationships with internal and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance of existing and new product innovations with local and international laws, rulings, and regulations.
  • Conduct artwork reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance for new and existing product labeling and registration from a global perspective.
  • Advise the New Product Development team on regulatory requirements and guidelines.
  • Assist in generating regulatory documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Review requests via Product Life Management (PLM) in compliance with regulatory obligations.
  • Oversee regulatory standards, systems, processes, and verify compliance with company and legal requirements.
  • Coordinate with third-party certification groups and support onsite inspections/audits for compliance.
  • Develop and manage key regulatory timelines and critical path activities.
  • Support the Director of Global Regulatory Affairs with research and analysis for regulatory submissions.
  • Track global regulatory activities and assess impacts of new ingredients.

Requirements

  • At least three (3) years of recent experience in regulatory affairs is preferred.
  • Recent experience in the Food & Beverage or Consumer Packaged Goods industry is strongly preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of recent experience with SAP PLM including specification review and document creation.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Regulatory Affairs, Food Science, Chemistry, Business Administration or related field is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of the Food & Beverage or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry is strongly preferred.
  • Multilingual abilities (English, Spanish, Portuguese) are preferred.
