About the position

The Regulatory Analyst position at Entergy involves researching, compiling, and analyzing regulatory filings related to new and emerging technologies. The role supports the development of innovative regulatory recovery strategies and pricing mechanisms, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while consulting with various internal teams. The analyst will also perform quantitative analysis of rate schedules and assist in the preparation of regulatory filings, contributing to the company's efforts in adapting to changing market conditions and technological advancements.

Responsibilities

  • Consult collaboratively with jurisdictional Regulatory Affairs and other internal teams to support emerging technology-related rulemakings.
  • Research regulatory and policy implications and assist with development of points of view.
  • Prepare summaries of other utility regulatory filings and proceedings, and perform analysis on emerging issues.
  • Perform research and analysis to evaluate potential rate design solutions.
  • Provide detailed analysis and review of rate filing documents developed to support Operating Company requests.
  • Document and assist in the interpretation of regulatory order filing requirements.
  • Perform quantitative analysis of Entergy rate schedules to evaluate customer bill impacts.
  • Provide support to other Regulatory Services teams for the accurate preparation of regulatory filings.
  • Perform peer reviews for new tariffs and regulatory recovery models for accuracy and compliance.
  • Proactively follow industry trends and developments and support communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or equivalent work experience.
  • MBA or Master's degree in relevant field preferred.
  • 0-7+ years of experience depending on the level of the position applied for.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced PC skills utilizing Microsoft Office and other mainframe business applications.
  • Ability to perform detailed analysis and convert this analysis into meaningful summaries.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize work effectively.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with regulatory filings and rate cases.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies such as smart grid and renewable energy.
  • Familiarity with energy efficiency and demand-side management.
