The Analyst position at Entergy Services, LLC involves a comprehensive role focused on research, analysis, and support for regulatory filings related to new and emerging technologies. This position is critical in developing innovative regulatory recovery strategies and pricing mechanisms that align with the evolving landscape of utility services. The analyst will engage in quality assurance and peer reviews, ensuring that documentation and analysis of rate issues are thorough and accurate. The role requires collaboration with various internal teams, particularly in Regulatory Affairs, to support rulemakings and growth initiatives through the development of regulatory recovery strategy models and other analytical tools. The analyst will be responsible for researching regulatory and policy implications, preparing summaries of utility regulatory filings, and analyzing emerging issues such as grid modernization, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and distributed energy resources. This position demands a strong understanding of rate design solutions to address market changes and customer needs. The analyst will also provide detailed reviews of rate filing documents and assist in interpreting regulatory order filing requirements. In addition to quantitative analysis of rate schedules to evaluate customer bill impacts, the analyst will support other Regulatory Services teams in preparing regulatory filings, ensuring compliance with jurisdictional rules. The role requires proactive engagement with industry trends and developments, contributing to effective communication within the organization. The analyst will also be expected to complete ad hoc analyses as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Research, compile, analyze, and provide support for regulatory filings related to new and emerging technologies.
  • Consult collaboratively with jurisdictional Regulatory Affairs and other internal teams to support emerging technology-related rulemakings.
  • Develop regulatory recovery strategy models and perform analysis to determine optimal regulatory strategies.
  • Research regulatory and policy implications and assist with development of points of view.
  • Prepare summaries of other utility regulatory filings and perform analysis on emerging issues.
  • Develop subject matter expertise on assigned regulatory issues to serve as a consultant to internal customers.
  • Evaluate potential rate design solutions to address emerging and changing market conditions.
  • Provide detailed analysis and review of rate filing documents developed to support Operating Company requests.
  • Document and assist in the interpretation of regulatory order filing requirements.
  • Perform quantitative analysis of Entergy rate schedules to evaluate customer bill impacts.
  • Support other Regulatory Services teams for the accurate preparation of regulatory filings.
  • Perform peer reviews for new tariffs and regulatory recovery models for accuracy and compliance.
  • Proactively follow industry trends and developments and support communications.
  • Complete other ad hoc analysis as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or equivalent work experience.
  • MBA or Master's degree in relevant field preferred.
  • Regulatory Analyst I: 0 years of experience.
  • Regulatory Analyst II - III: 1-3 years of experience.
  • Regulatory Analyst Sr: 3-5 years of experience.
  • Regulatory Analyst Sr Lead: 7+ years of experience.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Self-starter and requires little or no supervision.
  • Advanced PC skills utilizing Microsoft Office and other mainframe business applications.
  • Strong ability to develop detailed spreadsheets.
