About the position

The Regulatory Compliance Specialist at Duquesne Light Company plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Operations & Planning Reliability Standards. This position involves reviewing and coordinating regulatory compliance processes, monitoring compliance initiatives, and preparing necessary documentation. The specialist will work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across various departments to ensure adherence to regulations and to provide training on compliance issues.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and confirm compliance with operational and technical requirements of FERC, NERC, PJM, and RF.
  • Collaborate with technical SMEs in various departments to ensure compliance and readiness for audits.
  • Conduct reviews of compliance programs and documentation related to NERC Operations & Planning Reliability Standards.
  • Assist in the investigation and documentation of potential violations to regulatory organizations.
  • Participate in the coordination of Compliance Audits by FERC, NERC, PJM, and RF.
  • Maintain NERC compliance management database for required filings and compliance efforts.
  • Identify and develop internal controls for the Operations & Planning compliance program.
  • Stay informed on emerging utility industry compliance issues and distribute information to SMEs.
  • Develop and provide training on compliance requirements as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Seven (7+) or more years of experience in a compliance or audit role.
  • Technical knowledge and experience with NERC Operations & Planning standards.
  • Experience in a regulated entity, preferably in the electricity sector or other regulated environments.
