About the position

As a Regulatory Manager for Syngenta's Crop Protection Regulatory and Stewardship Department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet regulatory requirements and are approved for use in North America. This position involves developing, implementing, and leading regulatory strategies aimed at achieving registrations for new active ingredients. You will be responsible for effectively defending, maintaining, and expanding existing insecticide registrations in the U.S., which includes the preparation and submission of various regulatory documents such as Tolerance Petitions, Notice of Filings, Reduced Risk applications, Exclusive Use Extensions, and public comments. In this role, you will serve as the principal contact with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for all assigned active ingredients and related end-use products. You will also participate in external task forces to influence the defense and promotion of active ingredients and product interests. Providing consultation and support on regulatory issues to both internal and external business partners, including Supply Chain, Stewardship, and State regulatory bodies, will be a key part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will consult on data compensation, litigation, and business development matters. Collaboration with EPA personnel and Syngenta's Product Safety, Stewardship, Regulatory, and Business colleagues will be essential as you develop and implement submission strategies that address Endangered Species Act (ESA) requirements, enabling timely registration decision-making. You will also be tasked with preparing and overseeing timely and accurate submissions to regulatory authorities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and lead regulatory strategies to achieve registrations of new active ingredients within North America.
  • Effectively defend, maintain, and expand existing insecticide US registrations, including preparation and submission of documents such as Tolerance Petitions, Notice of Filings, Reduced Risk, Exclusive Use Extensions, and public comments.
  • Assist with product life-cycle management in concert with commercial business partners.
  • Serve as the principal contact with US EPA for all assigned active ingredients and related end-use products.
  • Participate on external task forces to influence the defense and promotion of active ingredients/product interests.
  • Provide consultation and support on regulatory issues to internal and external business partners including Supply Chain, Stewardship, State regulatory, Mexico and Canada, and Global Regulatory.
  • Consult on data compensation, litigation, and business development.
  • Work with EPA personnel and Syngenta Product Safety, Stewardship, Regulatory and Business colleagues to develop and implement submission strategies addressing ESA requirements and enable timely registration decision making.
  • Prepare and provide oversight for timely and accurate submissions.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in a Crop Protection related scientific field and at least 4 years of regulatory and/or crop protection experience.
  • Working knowledge in a broad range of scientific disciplines (i.e., biology, toxicology, environmental chemistry, etc.).
  • Knowledge of FIFRA, FFDCA, ESA and EPA registration requirements, policies, and processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ph.D. or M.S. degree in a Crop Protection related scientific field.
