About the position

The Regulatory Research and File Analyst plays a crucial role in managing document and regulatory activities related to compliance filings for state regulatory bodies in New Mexico and Texas. This position supports regulatory project case managers by overseeing the Exhibit process for discovery and testimony in major cases, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, and providing research and analysis on regulatory issues.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file regulatory compliance filings, project plans, discovery responses, and case filings according to regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with various business units to gather necessary information for regulatory filings.
  • Manage regulatory SharePoint and Collaboration sites for stakeholders involved in regulatory cases, ensuring proper management of confidential documents.
  • Provide regulatory case support to departments addressing inquiries related to regulatory documents, ensuring consistency in content and format.
  • Act as the lead regulatory contact for inquiries related to discovery and case management documents.
  • Conduct research on regulatory issues as directed and analyze previous regulatory cases to inform strategic positions.
  • Research cases in other jurisdictions to assess potential impacts on local regulatory cases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with three to five years of relevant experience, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and computer research skills, with proficiency in managing SharePoint and collaboration tools.
  • Basic understanding of the electric industry and familiarity with NMPRC, FERC, PUCT, and ERCOT regulatory activities.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and complete work in a dynamic environment under time constraints.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and ability to manage multiple complex activities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to interpret legal documents and present complex information effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in regulatory compliance within the electric utility sector.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and practices.
