About the position

Baker Tilly is seeking a Regulatory Risk Advisory Manager to join its rapidly growing consulting and accounting firm. This role focuses on providing exceptional client service in risk and advisory, helping clients assess risks and develop strategies to navigate a dynamic business environment. Responsibilities

  • Work directly with partners to provide governance, risk, technology, and compliance advisory services to clients.
  • Provide recommendations for business and process improvements based on knowledge of client operations and objectives.
  • Supervise and lead complex risk-focused financial examinations as an Examiner In Charge, evaluating insurers' business processes and controls.
  • Conduct risk-focused financial analysis of regulated insurance entities through off-site monitoring.
  • Monitor and report on significant internal/external changes and risks affecting insurers.
  • Review and analyze new laws, regulations, and policies to determine their impact on the company.
  • Provide supervision and training to junior staff and seniors.
  • Attend networking meetings and conferences to foster relationships and grow the insurance regulatory practice.
  • Meet business development goals in collaboration with coaches and partners.
  • Participate in or lead presentations and trainings on examination and analysis topics.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Risk Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in Risk Advisory, Internal and/or External Audit, or in a state regulatory agency/department or Regulatory Consulting firm.
  • CFE Certified Financial Examiner credential required.
  • Experience as an Examiner In Charge for multi-state examinations preferred.
  • Additional designations such as CPA, CISA, CIE, or Certified Internal Auditor preferred.
  • Flexibility to travel to various client sites, up to 30%.
  • Proactive communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with multi-state examinations and group coordinated examinations.
  • Additional certifications in risk management or auditing.
