About the position

The Regulatory Specialist (Air Emissions) is responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations related to air emissions for multiple customer facilities. This role involves quality assurance of environmental recordkeeping and reporting, as well as preparing and submitting reports to regulatory agencies and customers. The specialist will work remotely to gather and analyze environmental data, assist in air emissions calculations, and provide training on compliance issues.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality assurance of environmental recordkeeping and reporting tasks for multiple customer facilities.
  • Research and stay informed on applicable air pollution environmental regulations and practices.
  • Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
  • Prepare and submit reports to customers to guide in site-specific monitoring, planning, and quality procedures.
  • Gather and analyze environmental data and records for completeness and accuracy in technical and procedural practices.
  • Assist in designing and verifying air emissions calculations and support for compliance, recordkeeping, and reporting required for federal and state programs.
  • Document, maintain, and perform air emissions calculations and procedures using various software programs.
  • Create and modify permit summaries, monitoring plans, QAQC plans, certification protocols, and certification reports.
  • Provide support for customer reporting to EPA databases.
  • Interpret environmental regulations and guidance and apply that knowledge to environmental recordkeeping and reporting efforts.
  • Provide internal and external training on environmental compliance issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • Experience with Air Emissions calculations preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills including knowledge of Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to prepare reports and exercise discretion when dealing with confidential information.
  • Ability to analyze and summarize raw data for regulatory reports.
  • Ability to work well with all plant personnel, internal personnel, and senior managers.
