About the position

Morgan Stanley is seeking a talented and motivated Regulatory Specialist for Client Onboarding at the AVP level to join the Wealth Management Platforms team. This position plays a crucial role in supporting Financial Advisors, Support Professionals, and Operations teams by providing daily assistance and responding to inquiries through various channels such as phone, email, and internal systems. The successful candidate will analyze field inquiries to determine appropriate training and education solutions, document and analyze system issues, and develop requirements using JIRA. The role involves supporting multiple products and workstreams, including SEC Regulation Best Interest (Reg BI), Client Onboarding, New Accounts, Know Your Client (KYC), and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD). The Regulatory Specialist will translate the overall business strategy into technical requirements, ensuring that the product strategy and roadmap are well understood by Business, Operations, and Technology teams. Prioritizing work based on needs and constraints in an agile software development environment is essential, as is partnering with program management to align on status and milestones. Additionally, the Regulatory Specialist will assist with audits and Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSA), present planned work to key stakeholders across various departments, and gather internal and external feedback for insights. Facilitating workshops and meetings will also be part of the responsibilities, making this a dynamic and engaging role within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily support to Financial Advisors, Support Professionals, and Operations teams.
  • Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and internal systems.
  • Analyze field inquiries and determine training and education solutions.
  • Document and analyze system issues; develop and write requirements (JIRA).
  • Support multiple products and workstreams including SEC Regulation Best Interest (Reg BI), Client Onboarding, New Accounts, Know Your Client (KYC), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD).
  • Translate overall business strategy into technical requirements to be developed.
  • Collaborate with Business, Operations, and Technology to ensure understanding of product strategy, roadmap, and work to be done.
  • Prioritize work based on needs and constraints in an agile software development environment.
  • Partner with program management to align status and milestones.
  • Assist with audits and Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSA).
  • Present planned work to key stakeholders from business, technology, user experience, risk, fraud, communications, legal & compliance to obtain approvals.
  • Gather internal and external feedback for insights.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree is a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Product Management and Client Service, preferably in the financial services industry.
  • Team lead experience is required.
  • Series 7 certification is a plus.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to professionally communicate with Financial Advisors.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful digital products on time and within scope.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Benefits

  • Competitive base pay between $100,000 and $135,000 per year, determined on an individualized basis.
